The Scorpion and the Frog

The Scorpion and Frog story

Once upon a time, there lived a scorpion and a frog on the banks of a river. The scorpion was known for its poisonous tail, while the frog was famous for its jumping ability.

One day, the scorpion wanted to cross the river, but he did not know how to swim. He asked the frog for help, “Hey Frog, can you carry me on your back to cross the river?”

The frog doubted, “But if I put you on my back, you will sting me.”

The scorpion promised, “I won’t do that. If I sting you, we’ll both drown.”

The frog was attracted by the scorpion’s words and made him sit on its back. They started crossing the river. On the way, the scorpion stung the frog.

The frog shouted in pain, “Why did you do this? You broke your promise.”

The scorpion replied, “I broke the promise, because it is in my nature. I am a scorpion, and scorpions sting.”

Both drowned in water.
