The Fox and the Grapes

The Fox and the Grapes

Today I am going to tell The Fox and the Grapes story. It is about a fox who is hungry but cannot find food. Read the full The Fox and the Grapes moral story to know what really happened.

A fox was very hungry. She started wandering here and there in search of food. Even after roaming for a long time, She could not find anything to eat. Suddenly she saw a nearby garden. The garden was very beautiful and green. A very sweet smell was coming from that garden. She realized that now her search for food is going to end soon. She quickly started taking her steps towards the garden.

As she stepped forward, the smell coming from the garden became even stronger. She thought that there would be something special in this garden, which she would get to eat. With this thinking, she started moving faster. As soon as she reached the garden, she saw that the garden was loaded with grape vines. All the grapes are fully ripe. Her eyes lit up when she saw the grapes. From the smell of grapes, she guessed how juicy and sweet the grapes would be. She became very desperate to eat the grapes. She quickly took a long jump aiming for the grapes, but she could not reach the grapes and fell to the ground. Her first attempt failed.

She once again got up enthusiastically and this time she jumped toward the grapes faster than before with all her strength but this time her effort also went in vain. She failed to reach the grapes, but she did not give up. She thought that if two attempts fail, the third time, the success will be with her.

This time again she stood with double enthusiasm. She tried to take the longest jump ever. She thought that no one could stop her from getting grapes this time, but it did not happen. This time also, her attempt went in vain. She fell to the ground. Despite so much effort, she could not get a single grape. In such a situation, she gave up her hope of getting grapes. To hide her failure, she said to herself that grapes are sour, so she does not eat them.

Learning from the Fox and the Grapes story:

The moral of the Fox and the Grapes story is that some people will disparage what they cannot achieve or have for themselves.  The fox represents people who are unable to achieve something but will then say that the achievement is not worth having anyway.
