The ant and the grasshopper: Moral Story

Today I am going to tell the ant and the grasshopper story. It is a popular short story for kids from the collection of Aesop’s fables. It was the summer season. A grasshopper in the field was jumping here and there.  He was very happy. Suddenly he saw an ant. She was rolling a grain of maize and was trying to take it to her house. Seeing this, the grasshopper said, “Ant sister, why are you working so hard in the summer? ” The ant said, “I’m storing food for the winter season and I would advise that you should also store food for the winter”.  Grasshopper replied, “There is still a long time for the cold weather to come. Why should I worry from now on? I have enough food for now.” The ant continued its work. Finally, the days of the hard winter came. The grasshopper was now starving. On the contrary, the ant had sufficient stock of food which she had accumulated in the summer. Seeing this, the grasshopper also realized his mistake and started thinking, “I wish if I had also stored food for myself in time, today I don’t have to suffer from hunger”.
