Sleeping Beauty
Once upon a time, there lived a king and queen who were very happy. They had everything they could ever want, except for a child. They had been trying for many years to have a baby, but nothing had worked.
One day, the queen became pregnant. The king and queen were so happy! They threw a big party to celebrate. All of the fairies in the kingdom were invited.
The fairies came to the party and brought gifts for the baby. They all gave the baby beautiful things, except for one fairy. This fairy was very old and had a bad temper. She was angry that she had not been invited to the party, so she decided to put a curse on the baby.
The old fairy said, “When the princess turns 16 years old, she will prick her finger on a spindle and die.”
The king and queen were very sad. They didn’t know what to do. But then, one of the good fairies stepped forward. She said, “I cannot take away the curse, but I can soften it. The princess will not die, but instead she will fall into a deep sleep for 100 years. She will wake up when a prince kisses her.”
The king and queen were still sad, but they were grateful to the good fairy for softening the curse.
The years passed, and the princess grew into a beautiful young woman. On her 16th birthday, she was playing in the castle when she came across a spinning wheel. She had never seen a spinning wheel before, and she was curious about it. She reached out to touch it, and she pricked her finger on the spindle.
As soon as the princess pricked her finger, she fell to the floor in a deep sleep. Everyone in the castle fell asleep too. The king and queen, the servants, even the animals.
A hundred years passed, and the castle was now covered in vines and thorns. One day, a prince was riding through the forest when he saw the castle. He was curious about it, so he decided to go inside.
The prince walked through the castle, and he found everyone asleep. He finally came to the room where the princess was sleeping. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. He leaned down and kissed her.
As soon as the prince kissed the princess, she woke up. The rest of the castle woke up too. The king and queen were so happy to see their daughter again. They threw a big party to celebrate.
The prince and the princess were married, and they lived happily ever after.
Moral of the story:
Good always triumphs over evil.
True love can break any curse.
With faith and hope, anything is possible.
