The Talking Cave: A Clever Jackal Outwits a Hungry Lion
Once upon a time, an old lion was feeling very weak and hungry. He couldn’t catch any food, not even the smallest animals! Tired and sad, he wondered what to do.
Then, he saw a cave. He thought, “Maybe there’s something yummy inside that I can eat!” But he didn’t know, the cave belonged to a very smart jackal.
The jackal saw the lion’s big paw prints and knew he was in danger. He didn’t panic though, he had a plan!
He stood outside the cave and talked to it in a loud voice, like they were friends. “Cave,” he said, “we have a deal. When I come back home, I’ll call your name. If you don’t answer, I’ll find another cave.”
The lion, hiding inside, thought the cave was really talking! He wanted to eat the jackal, so he growled in a friendly way, “Come in, jackal friend!”
But the jackal was too clever. “Silly lion,” he laughed, “caves can’t talk! You can’t fool me!” Then, he ran away as fast as he could.
The lion tried to catch him, but the jackal was much faster. The lion learned that day, even when you’re hungry, it’s important to stay calm and think smart, just like the clever jackal!
