inspirational story: The Marble Trade

Once upon a time, two friends named Chhavi and Rohan were playing together. Chhavi had a delicious bag of candy, and Rohan had a collection of colorful marbles.

“Let’s trade!” Rohan exclaimed. “I’ll give you all my marbles for your yummy sweets.”

Chhavi, excited by the prospect of new toys, readily agreed. Rohan, however, couldn’t help but hold back his biggest and prettiest marble, tucking it away in his pocket. He traded the rest of his marbles for Chhavi’s candy, and they continued playing happily.

That night, Chhavi drifted off to sleep with a satisfied smile, dreaming of all the tasty treats she could enjoy. But Rohan, despite having a whole bag of candy, couldn’t rest. His mind kept replaying the trade, wondering if Chhavi had secretly hidden some sweets, just like he had hidden his best marble. He tossed and turned, his doubt growing with each passing hour.

Finally, morning arrived, and Rohan, exhausted from his restless night, confessed his sneaky act to Chhavi. Chhavi, understanding and kind, simply smiled.

“Friendship isn’t about keeping things for ourselves,” she said gently. “It’s about sharing and trusting each other.”

Rohan, ashamed of his behavior, realized the importance of honesty and generosity in any friendship. He promised to always be fair and open with Chhavi, and together, they enjoyed their treats, their bond strengthened by their newfound understanding.

Lesson:

In any friendship, it’s important to be honest and give your best. Just like Chhavi and Rohan learned, true friendship thrives on trust and open communication, not on secrets and doubts. So, remember, always be kind, be fair, and share with your friends, and your friendships will be sweeter than any candy!
